Managers Contract

 

CONTRACT FOR EMPLOYMENT BETWEEN

THE WESTERN COLORADO DRAG RACERS ASSOCIATION

AND DOUG & TERI STYERS

The Board of Directors and General Membership of the Western Colorado Drag Racers Association propose to hire Doug & Teri Styers as the track management for the 2008 season.

The duties of the track management (for the 2008 season) shall commence on October 1st, 2007 and continue through December 31st, 2008.

The compensation for the 2008 management duties shall be $400 per week for a total of 65 weeks. In addition, WCDRA will pay $512 per month for a health insurance premium and the employer portion of Social Security, Medicare, and State and Federal Unemployment Insurance premiums (all of which amount to approximately 10% of the gross wages paid). Because the organization cash flow can vary with the season a schedule of payments is included herein. Doug and Teri will not keep timecards but will report to the board of directors every month as to what they have accomplished and what they are currently working on. Doug and Teri will schedule ten Friday night events, one Test & Tune event, eleven points events, and one bracket race and will work at all of those events barring serious illness or other unforeseeable emergencies.

Doug and Teri will work with Mesa County to oversee the upcoming improvements funded by the DOLA grant. Said duties will include attending all planning meetings, physically being at the track as each new phase of construction begins, and overseeing the in kind and monetary donations specific to the grant. In addition, numerous facility upgrades and improvements specific only to our organization will be performed by and/or supervised by them as monies allow. A list of goals and the approximate funds needed is attached.

They will also perform the other duties required according to the association bylaws:

ARTICLE III / Paragraph 2 / GENERAL MANAGER DUTIES

It is the job of the General Manager to handle the day to day operations of the track as a business. The General Manager shall hire that staff that he/she deems necessary to appropriately promote the events, handle track finances, and safely conduct the races. The job of General Manager is a paid position; with the compensation determined by the Association. The General Manager shall set the salaries of the paid workers after obtaining the permission of the board of directors.

The General Manager has the ultimate control of the facility during racing events. It is his/her job to see that events are conducted within the guidelines and rules of the National Hot Rod Association. The General Manager may remove, temporarily or permanently, any person from the facility that he/she determines is disruptive or hazardous to the facility, the participants, the workers, or the event itself. The General Manager may recommend to the board of directors the revocation of the membership of any individual who proves to be disruptive or a hazard to events or racers.
