WESTERN COLORADO DRAGWAY JUNIOR DRAGSTER PROGRAM
Waivers:
Join or renew your NHRA Junior Drag Racing League as soon as possible. We will track expiration dates on your cards this year. Kids without cards (or with expired cards) will have to have a notarized waiver SIGNED BY BOTH PARENTS. We can do this at the track if necessary – or you can download the form off our website:
western-colorado-dragway.com
Time breaks:
We run all ages together but time breaks per age will be enforced. Children may not dial out of their age/time class. Children who breakout of their class by 2/10ths or less will be given one verbal warning. Children who breakout by greater than 2/10ths will be disqualified.
Ages 8-9: 12.90 or slower, 12.69 or faster: DQ
Ages 10-12: 8.90 or slower, 8.79 or faster: DQ
Ages 13-17: 7.90 or slower, 7.79 or faster: DQ
General Rules:
All other NHRA JDRL rules will apply as well – including appropriate fire suits and a tech inspection of the car.
Our Program:
Gates open at 9am and time trials begin at 10am. Time trials will be run until 11:20. You may run as many as you can within that time frame. We will take a break from 11:20-11:30. At 11:30 eliminations will begin. We will ladder every round. First and second round losers may pay an additional $5 and join a consolation class. You will be given a 10 minute break between rounds.
First and second place winners will receive a trophy. First place winners will receive a $50 savings bond. All participants will receive a participant pin every event. Consolation first and second place winners will be paid (in Dragway Dollars) based on the number entered in the class (60% total payout).
Test and tune runs will be allowed during competition – but the child must be out of the competition.
Track Membership:
Track membership is $30 per year. Entry fees for junior members are $30 per event. Membership will not be required in order to compete – however, non-members will pay a higher entry fee - $45. You MUST be a track member in order to join the points. The fee for joining the points competition is $25. Points are tracked throughout the season. The points champion will receive a champion jacket, a plaque, a gold card good for free entry fees the following year, and a $500 savings bond.
